The Gaggia Accademia is a home espresso machine that pleases all palates. A ceramic burr grinder with 8 grind settings grinds the beans to your specifications. For those who prefer a decaf or halfcaff, a bypass doser is available. Both are located on the top of the machine for easy access. In addition, the Accademia features a unique Milk Management system with a detachable carafe for easy cappuccinos and lattes. The detachable milk circuit ensures that milk never enters the machine thereby eliminating the possibility of old milk contaminating your machine. Four milk frothing selections are available for your convenience. Simply detach the unit and store in the fridge until ready to use.
The Accademia features a single thermoblock boiler configuration. In addition, a pre-infusion cycle infuses the coffee grounds with hot water to extract maximum flavor from the beans. A telescopic coffee dispenser can accommodate different size cups with a maximum height of 6.5 inches. The Accademia has a 1.6 liter detachable water reservoir with a mavea water filter to prevent scale and mineral build up. The E-plus system allows the user to vary the strength of coffee from mild to strong while the Opti-dose system enables you to control the amount of ground coffee from 6.5-11.5 grams.
The control panel notifies the user when the machine is out of beans, out of water, when the dreg drawer (spent coffee grounds) is full, or when the machine needs to be decalcified. This attractive contemporary machine has a stainless steel front panel and an easy to read LCD display.
