Vibiemme Domobar Junior V3 Semiautomatic Espresso Machine
The Vibiemme “Junior” is so-called because it’s built with a smaller footprint for those that want a real espresso machine, but for whom counter space is a constraint. The Vibiemme Junior V3, while smaller, offers the same features as its big brothers. It can extract espresso at the same time that you are frothing milk.
The Vibiemme Junior is also set at a lower price point, in part because many of its components are smaller. In addition to a slightly smaller frame, the boiler is 1 liter, compared to the 2.5 liter boilers on the larger models.
The Vibiemme Junior has the same E-61 grouphead that’s used on their other machines, as well as the same ULKA 41 watt pump, the same gorgeous styling, the same large adjustable overpressure valve (OPV), the same commercial grade steam and hot water valves, multi-directional steam and hot water wands, brew and steam pressure gauges, heavy vacuum breaker valve, and one-way valve to eliminate back pressure from the boiler. It’s just a little smaller.
All of the Vibiemme espresso machines have a heavy-duty FAEMA E61 grouphead, which maintains an active water flow between the boiler and the group so as to keep the brewing temperature constant – equal to the original water temperature.
The boiler is fully insulated, both to minimize the power needed to maintain the boiler temperature, and to keep that temperature as constant as possible. The heat exchanger coupled to the boiler allows you to pull shot after shot with no variation in the brew temperature.
A heating light on the side of the machine is there to indicate that the boiler is still coming up to the desired temperature. Once it has reached that, the light goes off. There is also a low-water indicator light that tells you when the water reservoir needs refilling.
The Vibiemme Junior features professional grade brass portafilters that fit the E61 group. You’ll get a single-shot and a double-shot basket, and a blind filter for standard backwashing. The machine comes with a plastic coffee scoop and a plastic tamper. It’s recommended that you get a real tamper to use with this REAL machine.
